spring line of t's- new image design

What is harder, starting something or finishing it... both are equally trying sometimes ; create something new or to repeat the process over and over again. My first T-shirt image of the oyster went over really well, but now what, now where? As a "designer" what do I want my line to show, who am I selling to, what do people want? What is "cape codddy", but not starfish and hydrandreas? Um- did I mention my head is spinning!

So here's what I am thinking, a seagull, a coyote, and the original launching pad of the oyster for spring. I absolutely love hawks, but I am not sure two woodland creatures are correct right now, and that may be better in a fall line anyways. I am also branching out with some mens, and (as requested) black kids T's, (well actually they are charcol). I hope to have them done and printed by next week, so stay tuned and I will post results!

Please feel free to send me suggestions of colors and ideas, I'd love to hear what you think!

Holy Claw's

Finally a much needed vacation full of hiking and, well, a hole lot of hiking. I am sore but rested and renewed! While wandering around the woods trying not to step on moose turd and avoid tree branch slaps across the face, I stumbled upon these lovely marks, bear claws!!! They started a good foot over my head and continued all the way down the tree... just a little afternoon strech-a-roo. Holy Crap!

But funny enough, it inspired me to think of quirky new names for my spring line of clothing...

Here's a few options'

mountain lion "meow"
seagull "bird of pray"

well that's all i can think of...but I may be tempted to try out a moose T!

Oyster Fest '08 was a blast!!

I can't relay how cold it was...I think that if we were able to move it would have been not so bad, but 8 hours on concrete, in the cold, just standing...ouch!

Thanks to every one for all their help! Tom and Rob from Wellfleet Wine Cellar and Spirits for donating the wine for the raffle prizes!!! Rebecca and her family for being their on day 2 for us, and especially to everyone who stoped by our tent to help support us!!!! Please stay tuned for the next event, the weekend of Nov. 8th and 9th at the Cape Cod Tech! Sadly we will miss the sausage king (see last picture).

Responsible ethics....

Some days I can't wait for the night to come, for the sun to set and the envelope of night to wrap around me so that I may be relieved of my daily duties as a mother and wife, and I am able to be selfish for a while.
Almost every morning i have to convince my son why today is going to be a great day at school and why he shouldn't miss it! Really pump him up...so that I can actually get him out the door with out a fake cough or a "please will you pick me up early today". He is enrolled in one of the best public schools in Mass. and yet he takes that for granted just as much as I take all that I have for granted. I forget that I am a lucky person, blessed with a family, and great friends that are a once in a life time find! I have all the luxerys and modern conviences from the flat screens, ipods & designer jeans to massages, pedicures, and gym memberships, and life goes by day by day, and you forget that you are different from most.

My brother and his wife are teachers, and just out of school they made a trip to ghana and taught some of the poorest kids they had ever met, afer their experiences there they started a non profit organization called the Ghana Wisdom Foundation, where they strive to help these kids, by building schools and providing resources (if you have ever read Three Cups of Tea, it is very similar, minus the 100 million dollar donation the man in the book recieved!!!!)

In doing my small part, (10% of my buisness income gets donated to help) I urge you all to make a donation if possible, (a hole school can be built for a few thousand dollars), maybe some of you need a tax deduction this year!!!!!

Wellfleet Oyster Fest '08

I have been working every waking moment getting ready for the Wellfleet Oyster Fest. The Oysterfest is held in the center of Wellfleet, Mass every year the weekend following Columbus Day. This year it is Sat. the 18th and Sun. the 19th of October. Now normaly this wouldn't be such a big deal, but considering I quit my job to pursure this "working for my self thing" well it's now kinda a BIG deal....

I designed a new line of T-shirts for woman and kids, (appropriately enough, oyster T's) and I silkscreened them onto 100% organic cotton T's, along with a line or colorful %100 organic cotton silk screened throw pillows. I spent today trying to design some 3D models for my T-shirts and here's what I came up with, not bad for using completely recycled materials!!

I have also been paintng away, many many many small little block paintings. My wonderful husband created this nifty little display stand for me!!!
